Jonathan and I have grown a bunch of perennial vegetables for many years. At this point we have a good sense of the ones that we actually like to eat. Ultimately that is kind of the goal of an EDIBLE forest garden, isn't it?
Here are the perennial vegetables I really like to eat. Jonathans list is likely to be fairly similar - wanna post it JB?
LEAF CROPS (RAW):water celery, Hablitzia, sorrel, sylvetta arugula, wolfberry, Welsh onion, Egyptian onion, scorzonera (okay)
LEAF CROPS (COOKED):all the above plus sea kale (fall only), garlic chives, Welsh onion, ramps, mulberry leaf (select varieties only), maypop leaf (heard great reviews, will try this year), ramps, ostrich fern, nettle and wood nettle
