I've been playing around with a network topology program called Gephi http://gephi.org/ and had the idea that it might be an interesting project to start to build network maps of plant guilds. I think it would have some advantages over the traditional matrix or database representations since one of the features of this kind of mapping is that it can group guilds together spacially. The hard part is getting the right data for input since hand coding is a total drag.
I was wondering if the database for Apios would be available for this kind of project or if there would be others here that would be interested in working on network visualiations?
